Dragons are both the collection goal and the active defenders in Catch Dragons To Defend. The official Roblox page confirms rare dragons and new dragons, while current walkthroughs show players using Capture Balls, returning catches to a pen, equipping a roster, and letting those dragons fight enemies. What the official page does not provide is a complete roster, stat table, spawn map, or catch-rate chart.

Read age, rarity, and family separately

Current walkthrough footage and written guides report age labels such as Baby, Young, and Adult, alongside rarity labels that progress through ordinary and higher-rarity categories. A family or color name—Wind, Fire, Gold, Sapphire, or Prismatic in current community examples—is another field. Do not collapse all three into one ranking.

An Adult label may indicate a different form or harder catch than a Baby label, but it does not prove a fixed damage advantage without the current stat panel. A Gold name may describe a family or appearance rather than an official rarity. A Legendary label may identify rarity, yet even that does not establish a complete combat tier list. Read the labels shown on the target and compare actual stats after capture.

This is a known-sightings index, not a complete list. UPD3 advertises new dragons, so a roster copied from UPD2 can be incomplete immediately. Names, forms, regions, stats, and icons should be filled only from the current client or repeated current demonstrations.

Build a catch plan before approaching

First, leave a usable pen or storage slot. Second, check your Capture Ball types and counts. Third, identify the target’s displayed age, rarity, and chance. Fourth, decide how many attempts you are willing to spend before stopping. Fifth, make sure no timed potion or boost is running while you are still navigating menus.

If the game displays a timer after the catch interaction begins, stay focused on the target and the remaining stock. Community guides report that some rare catches allow repeated throws after a break-free result. The exact timer and whether every failure consumes a ball still need current verification, so watch both the clock and inventory count.

Match ball value to target value

The strongest ball is not the correct answer for every dragon. An ordinary early catch should usually be handled with an available basic tier if the displayed chance is acceptable. Advanced or Elite stock is more useful when a target is difficult, rare, or limited. Community guides also report Supreme, Apex, and Master tiers, but their UPD3 prices and precise bonuses are not published officially.

Use the current catch chance, when shown, as a decision tool rather than a promise. Even a high chance can fail, and an unlabeled chance should not be inferred from color. Confirm the dragon after a successful catch

Do not leave the area until you know where the catch went. Open the roster, storage, Backpack, or pen interface and find the matching name and labels. If the pen is full, determine whether the dragon was stored automatically or whether the capture failed to register. Take a screenshot of the stat panel when a dragon is new to you; that gives a version-dated record without relying on memory.

Equip the new dragon only after recording the current team. Compare the same enemy cycle before and after the swap. Rarity alone does not show damage, fire rate, range, or uptime, and a newly caught dragon may be valuable for collection without being the strongest defender in your current setup.

Use the Dex without turning it into a tier list

A useful Dex answers where a dragon was seen, which labels the game displayed, how it was obtained, what stats are visible, and when the observation happened. It does not rank unknown entries by thumbnail color. Leave a field blank if the interface does not show it.

When UPD3 adds or changes a dragon, update the observation date and preserve the older note as superseded rather than merging two versions. This matters for catch preparation: a dragon can move zones, receive a new form, or change its displayed chance without the family name changing.

Common collection mistakes

• Calling a community sightings list complete after an update adds new dragons.
• Treating age, family name, and rarity as the same field.
• Using the rarest ball available before checking the displayed chance.
• Starting a catch with a full pen and no idea where overflow goes.
• Leaving after the success animation without verifying the collection entry.
• Publishing exact stats from a different update or another player’s boosted roster.
• Creating a separate thin page for every name before the game provides enough useful data.

Is there a complete dragon list?

No complete official roster was publicly available during the September 28, 2026 check. The Dex records only current documented sightings and explicitly leaves unsupported fields empty.

What is the rarest dragon?

The official page confirms rare dragons but does not identify a single rarest entry. UPD3 also advertises new dragons, so a permanent answer would require current roster and spawn verification.

Does Legendary always mean strongest?

Legendary is a rarity label in community coverage, not a complete combat calculation. Compare the live stat panel and the dragon’s performance in your active roster.

Why not create a page for every dragon?

A useful entity page needs a verified name, location, acquisition route, labels, stats, and player decisions. The current public record does not support that depth for every dragon, so one maintained Dex is safer.
