Capture Balls turn a dragon sighting into a catch attempt. Current Catch Dragons To Defend walkthroughs report a tier ladder that includes Basic, Advanced, Elite, Supreme, Apex, and Master balls. The official Roblox description confirms catching but does not publish that catalog, its prices, or its exact bonuses. Treat the ladder as community reported and use the live item text and displayed chance before every important throw.
Currently documented ball tiers
No exact price or percentage is listed because current public values come from community recordings and may change. The live Shop and catch interaction are the authority.
Unlock and obtain balls
Current walkthroughs show a Basic Capture Ball unlock in the early upgrade flow and higher tiers in a capture-related Shop. Codes are also reported as a source of Elite or other balls, but active lists conflict. Complete the tutorial requirement, inspect the Shop, and use only rewards the client actually grants.
Check the Backpack after any purchase or code. Confirm the count and whether the ball is selected automatically. Do not assume a code reward applied to the next throw merely because redemption succeeded.
Choose a tier for the target
Read the target’s name, age or form, rarity, and displayed catch chance. Select the least scarce tier that gives an acceptable chance and leaves enough stock for another attempt. For an ordinary target, that may be Basic. For a rare or limited target, Advanced, Elite, or a verified higher tier may protect total inventory and time.
If the interface displays no chance, use the current item descriptions and a conservative stop rule. Do not infer strength from color alone. A ball with a prestigious name is still consumable stock whose effect must be shown by the client.
Buy in batches with a purpose
Before buying, name the next target and estimate how many attempts you can afford. Carry more than one suitable ball into a timed hunt, but keep a reserve for normal progression. Buying every tier at once locks coins into unused inventory.
Compare the cost of a stronger ball with a permanent capture-related upgrade. The stronger ball may solve one hunt now; the upgrade may improve repeated attempts. The Best Upgrades guide explains how to compare those choices.
Handle repeated failures
After every break-free result, check whether the ball was consumed, whether the selected tier stayed the same, and whether the target or timer remains active. Do not press through the animation. A mobile inventory can shift selection after a tap or scroll.
Increase the tier when the displayed improvement is meaningful and the target is worth the stock. Stop when the remaining time or inventory cannot support a complete attempt. The Catching Guide gives the full operation and recovery route.
Protect premium stock
Reserve the highest verified tiers for rare targets, difficult forms, or time-limited opportunities. Establish income with ordinary catches and use pen upgrades to turn them into progress. A failed rare hunt is less damaging when the active loop still works and basic stock remains.
Do not activate a luck-related item until the current UI explains what it changes. A potion may affect a player stat, the displayed chance, or another system. Testing it on a named target with the same selected ball gives a clearer result than consuming it in the hub.
Capture Ball mistakes to avoid
- Using premium stock on an ordinary target with a good Basic chance.
- Repeating a poor chance until the entire stack is gone.
- Entering a timed catch with one suitable ball.
- Assuming Apex or Master means guaranteed success.
- Copying old prices and odds into a current decision.
- Forgetting pen or storage capacity before a successful catch.
- Redeeming a code and failing to confirm where the balls were stored.
Capture Balls FAQ
What is the best Capture Ball?
The highest currently available tier may show the strongest chance, but “best” depends on the target and stock value. Use the cheapest tier that gives an acceptable live result.
Are Elite Capture Balls free from codes?
Several community pages report Elite-ball code rewards, but active lists change. Redeem current strings and verify the inventory rather than treating an old reward as guaranteed.
Do failed throws use a ball?
Watch the live inventory count. Repeated throws are community reported, but the exact consumption behavior should be verified in the current build.
Where do I buy higher tiers?
Current walkthroughs report a capture-related Shop. Open the live Shop and confirm the current tier names, prices, stock, and prerequisites.
